What is Credit Provider Harassment?

What is credit provider harassment?

Any form of communication from credit providers after applying for debt review is considered credit provider harassment.

All account communication should be directed to your debt counsellor as they are now handling your accounts.

Under what circumstances can you receive communication?

If any payments are missed, credit providers have the right to terminate the account from debt review and contact clients directly regarding payment.

Most credit providers will only contact clients directly after 60 days of non-payment, but they are within their rights to do so after one missed payment as you have defaulted on the agreement.

Communication from credit providers may occur in error. If so, please let your debt counsellor know and they will assist in redirecting any further communication.

Please Note:  Do not make your own payment arrangement with your credit providers for the account under the process. This can interfere with existing arrangements we have already made.

Please Note:  Some credit providers will continue to send you communication regarding your account statements and the status of your accounts. This is their contractual duty and is not seen as credit provider harassment.
